Finally! The long delayed patch for the much neglected PS3 will be coming out this week. If you are a regular over at InfinityWard’s forum – you will most probably know who fourzerotwo is. To others who doesn’t have a clue – he is Robert Bowling, Director of Communications / Community Manager for Infinity Ward. According to his blog, “just received word from Sony that they are on the final stages of certifying the PS3 Feature patch and will definitely be seeing it go live to users this week“.
Update: Patch went live few hours ago.
What is the COD4 Patch? I hope it’s something good, cause I love this game.

The upcoming patch is supposed to do the following:
- Servers will be optimized
- Able to mute player’s mic
- Improvements to Sniper and ACOG sights
- New Kill Cameras (check my latest post for video)
- Adds Recently Met Players to the Add Friends feature on PSN
- Host leaves, the next best person in line takes over. No more “Host Ended Game” shit.

That’s a good patch u guys got goin here, but what I and many more people would like is that, I can’t invite friends to my party, it never works. Same happens with them. If that could be fixed eventually that would be great.

Have you tried putting your PS3 in a DMZ? I’ve encountered the same problem before, but I find that after putting my PS3 in a DMZ, the “Unable To Connect To Host” problem has reduced dramatically. Give it a try. Here’s a link to a step by step guide. Its quite simple.

I’ve downloaded the patch. But still have not got to experience the “Host Ended Game” yet. Will give it a go tonite and see what happens. Hope its true, else – Infinity Ward! Get working on it!
