Fellow HTC Hero users rejoice! For HTC has confirmed that Hero will be getting the latest Android 2.0 as reported by Engadget.com. According to HTC – “Yes, we are working on an Eclair update for the HTC Hero. Because Eclair is a significantly enhanced release, it will require some time to update Sense for this new version of the Android OS. My plan is to have the best of all the phone OS’s:
1) Keep my iPod Touch – so I still get to use all the Apps I love (to own, actually, not to use so much, but they are damn good)
2) Keep my old Nokia brick and maybe ‘upgrade’ to a smaller one – as a spare phone
3) Plan to get Android based phone!!!!!
There is a lot of writings on the net now predicting that Android will be the 2nd most popular phone OS after Apple.

You’re like a mirror image of me before I got my HTC Hero. Deciding back and forth on which to get. iPhone 3Gs or Android? I am so enjoying it. Seeing your indecisiveness. At least I know, I was not alone. According to a report, Android will take over iPhone by 2012.

No. It was on Android 1.5 (Donut) if I got my facts right. The newer Android 2.0 will not be available on all Android phones as of now. HTC Hero will be one of them to get it.
