MW2: Sold 4.7 Million Copies On Day One

Activision, the game publisher of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 proudly announce that they’ve sold approximately 4.7 million copies of the game in US and Europe on day-one! According to the press release, it states - “Most Anticipated Game of the Year Becomes Biggest Entertainment Launch in History”. It’s said that for a game to be profitable – it has to cross the 1 million copies mark. For comparison, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves – a PlayStation 3 exclusive title only sold 537,000 copies in the entire month of October. Note: Modern Warfare 2 is cross platform.

XboxLive: Social Networking Kicks Off On 17th Nov

I am sounding more and more like a Xbox360 fanboy these days. But I just can’t help it. Everything team Xbox360 does kicks team PlayStation 3’s ass. Come November 17th 2009, Xbox360 users will have their Social Networking presented in glorious 1080p on their tv screen. FaceBook, Twitter and Last.FM – all in. Check out these screens, beautiful. How about folks on the PlayStation 3? FaceBook is said to be added soon to the damn XMB. Don’t be lazy team PlayStation. You got off easy with porting the dated PSP interface over to the PlayStation 3. It’s bout freaking time for a total revamp. You guys are losing out and stop being such a complacent ass. Tekken 6 Limited Edition

Just got back from my regular gameshop. Saw this drool worthy box sitting on-top of a glass shelf like a priced possession. This is the premium bundle which includes the Tekken 6 game, limited edition wireless fight stick crafted by Hori and collectible Art book. My drool stopped once I was told it costs RM550.

Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition Console

Cool? Yes. Highly desirable? You bet. Can I afford it? Nah. Retailing for US$399 – it features a specially designed CoD: Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360 bundled with a 250GB hardisk and 2 matching controllers. Unit will be released on the same day as the game – 10th November 2009. Infinity Ward, how bout some love for the PlayStation 3?

TGS 2009, Going Live In 3, 2, 1 ….

I love what Kotaku did with this. In my opinion, I think its way better than the official visual by the event organizers. Tokyo Game Show, happening from today till Sunday, 27th September 2009. Each year, I’ll ask myself exactly the same question – Why am I not there? Like a broken record, I’ll get exactly the same answer – money.

Batman: Arkham Asylum What?

I have not got my hands on Batman: Arkham Asylum. But I’ve noticed the unusual hype surrounding this game. Seems like every major gaming websites are raving about it to the extent of having one thinking whether they were all “paid” to say so. Rave reviews aside – this game just got a Guinness World Record for “Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever” – now that’s fucking pushing it. Come on guys – everything has limits.
