Canon EOS 50D

Passed by my regular Camera Shop at the mall today and was tempted by the power of Canon EOS 50D. Am quite familiar with the staff there and they know that I’ve been playing the waiting game for the longest time to get a DSLR, since the days of Canon EOS 30D to be exact. The body of the camera is RM4,100 with no freebies whatsoever. The lens that got me all excited was EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro with amazing Bokeh in every shot. This will add RM280 to the cost. The walkabout lens, EF-S 18-200mm F3.5-5.6 IS will add another RM1,590 bringing a total investment of RM5,970. Tempting, but no. I have other priorities in mind. Afterall, at a time like this – cash is king. (OMG!!! This is so not me talking)

Yup, that’s so not you! Then again, you have just got yourself a Lumix LX3 already eh.

No doubt, the LX3 is a great point-and-shoot camera. I am still loving it. For comparison, the LX3 is my iPod – I love it. But Canon EOS 50D is like a 7.1 sound system with DTS and all that shit. The portability of the LX3 is great, but with 50D – photos will blow you away. Not really a good comparison, but you’ll get the idea.
