Nintendo DSi: The Details

The Nintendo DSi is currently available in Japan, US and Europe. The Japanese unit doesn’t have language options for an English interface. So unless you can read Japanese, avoid getting one unit from there. Current colors available are Light Blue & Black for US and White & Black for Europe. The DSi keeps roughly the same dimensions as the DS Lite while slightly increasing the screen size from 1.81 by 2.4 inches  to 1.96 inches by 2.59 inches. It has a rubbery-ish coating that resolved the old finger-print-magnet problem but poses a new one, dirt-and-scratches-magnet. The main processor has doubled, from the 67MHz found inside the DS Lite, to 133MHz. Its RAM has quadrupled from 4MB to 16MB. At long last, SDHC cards are supported in this gaming handheld and it will cost US$40 more than the regular DS Lite.  Until Nintendo releases some interesting new colors or a limited editions, I will not be getting one. I can wait.

Emmmmhmmmmm… I couldn’t agree anymore with you on your final point made. Unless Nintendo decides to release the Dsi i some kinda striking pink nah jokes ;p new colours I don’t think i’ll be forking out AUD $294.00 for a new one. I’ve grown quite attached to my current dsi lite and don’t think i want to part with it just yet. I think my next portable gaming console will have to be a psp 😀

Don’t get a PSP now. Wait till the end of the year. A 2nd generation PSP will emerge. So, don’t go wasting your money on something that’s already obsolete.

If i don’t get a PSP now and get the new 2nd generation PSP how much would the new generation one cost?? or maybe I should like wait until the end of next year to buy the new 2nd generation PSP because the price of it might have reduced. I’m not sure Mark really wants the new PSP so maybe i will get that for him for his birthday next year and i’ll just steal it off him ;P

Suddenly that episode of The Simpsons where Homer got Marge a bowling ball as birthday present with his name engraved on the ball pops in my head after reading your reply. Poor Mark.
