Sony Cybershot DSC-TX1

Pictured here are the new 10.2 Mp Sony Cybershot DSC-TX1 featuring the new “twilight mode” – which according to Sony “provide unprecedented advances in low-light performance with approximately twice the sensitivity of cameras with traditional image sensors”. Phil Lubell, director of the digital imaging business at Sony Electronics bravely claimed “We’ve all taken pictures in dimly lit situations, like blowing out candles on a birthday cake, and the results were grainy and unclear. By redesigning the way these cameras capture light, Sony is leading the industry by creating this easy way to take amazingly clear, vibrant photos in low lighting scenarios.” The HD movie enabled TX1 will retail for US$380 later this month. At just 16.5 mm – I have my reservations on the actual photo quality it’ll produce, but still – don’t trash it if you have not tried it policy applies.
