Celcom: iPhone 3Gs in January 2010

celcom-iphone3gs

Okay, here’s the deal. Don’t hold me for it. Don’t ask me where I heard it from. Don’t hold your breathe for it to be officially announced or even announced at all. Take this with a pinch of salt. No, correction – take this with a truck load of salt. What I heard today, if its real – we will soon be getting iPhone 3Gs not only from Maxis, but Celcom as well. An informant told someone I know that Celcom will be bringing in 10,000 units of the iPhone 3Gs come January 2010. If this is true, then the iPhone monopoly by Maxis will finally be over and we’ll not have to succumb to such “worldwide shortage” nonsense and having to wait 2-months for a damn freaking iPhone 3Gs here in Malaysia. Oh Celcom, please let this be true. I freaking wake up every morning with a deep passionate hate for Maxis these days for how its treating the iPhone community here in KL.

Really… Maxis is really that bad?

    Why is Maxis bad …..

    1. Takes 2 months to get an iPhone 3GS 16Gb
    2. Pushing customers to get the 32Gb unit instead (promising faster delivery)
    3. iValue Plan sucks
    4. HSDPA Coverage sucks (compared to Celcom)

Wow, if only this will come true!

I was just about to buy an iPhone from Maxis, but seeing how much I prefer Celcom’s 3G network coverage, I think I’ll wait, based on what you’ve written.

Apple has offered celcom to sell iphone. CONFIRM
It’s in nego phase (plan package).
Anyhow, celcom will sell iphone most probably in May or June.
Why Celcom and why In May – June? :

    – celcom still has contract with blackberry, recently launch storm 2. Have to wait few more month when things settle down with the bb’s.

    – Apple now sees that celcom manage to bb phones at higher ratio 51:1 compare to maxis.

    – celcom have way better 3g coverage than any other telco. Apple like this facts.

The rumored are true because big bro is one of celcom’s head in the marketing dept, north region. He knows everything πŸ™‚

So, to those celcom & iphone die heart, hold your horses and get ready in a few month.

    Cheers

i totally agreed with the fact that celcom have
    better line coverage even 3g!!..

also, celcom always offer the best price than maxis..
(dont know why)..in many aspect especially in pricing..
maxis make me have to spend money more to pay the bill..

i think digi is also ok.. but, the problem is..
digi dont have a wide coverage as celcom..
to those who live in the klang valley, selangor..
    it’s ok.. better use digi..
but.. not for someone from northern or eastern..

u buy the phone, but u cant use it..it’s useless for me..
same as p1max.. i hate that..

FYI Celcom is not getting the iPhone in as it’s not a win win situation for them as my insider from celcom told me few weeks ago. So don’t wait for celcom to provide iPhone at all.

so, since celcom is going to sell iphone, would it be iphone 4g as rumours said new iphone going out in summer 2010?

As Apple choose Verizon instead of AT&T for the newcoming iphone, would it be the same as in Malaysia?

Awaits for celcom to be iphone agent in malaysia…hardly wait.
