Having a Netbook with minimal processing power, I was glad I need not install memory munching softwares like Adobe Photoshop to perform simple photo editing functions for my blogs. Now, there are many online photo editor out there which works directly from your web browser. I’ve tried 2 so far and I am liking Pixlr.com more than Picnik.com.
Being a heavy Photoshop user for my work, I find the features and layout of Pixlr very similar to Photoshop. Since it runs off your web browser, it will not render your Netbook to a snail pace speed as it would if you’re running Photoshop. Though it doesn’t carry every tool found on Photoshop, it has more than enough to get your pictures cropped, resized or adjusted for your blog. No complaints from me. Loving it.

I don’t think so. Because the file is just rendered on your computer. And when its ready to be saved, it will just save onto your computer and not uploaded to a server. I think. Give it a spin. Its really fast.

I have given it a spin. The file is rendered and saved onto the computer, but what about the editing tools? If this also runs from your computer, I don’t see a need to go to pixlr.com again. People could just go to that site one time and never have to go there again because the computer had just downloaded the whole program. It’s fast because your connection is, I think.

Not sure. I tried it in my office which has an acceptable speed, it was fairly fast as well. I tried it on my Vaio W with the data connection on my mobile phone, still fast. I am very happy with it. At least I do not need to install Photoshop just to do what I can do with a free site like pixlr.com
But isn’t it amazing? Photo editing on your web browser. Of coz, credits goes to Adobe which was the FIRST to introduce free web browser photo editing capabilities over at http://www.photoshop.com. Everyone else just improved on it.
